A note on health information
Some information you share - including mood check-ins, cycle data, sleep data, and inventory responses - is treated with heightened care. We do not sell it, share it for advertising purposes, or use it to make automated decisions about you.
2A. Reproductive Health Data
When you choose to use the hormonal context feature in the app, Momwell collects information about your reproductive and hormonal status. This is entirely optional. The app is fully functional without it.
The reproductive health information you may provide includes: your hormonal context (such as whether you cycle naturally, use hormonal contraception, are postpartum, or are in perimenopause or post-menopause); cycle data including last period start date and typical cycle length where applicable; and whether you experience significant premenstrual mood shifts.
This information is used solely to display a phase card on your home screen and a hormone map in your Trends tab. It is not used for clinical routing, advertising, or any third-party purpose. It is never sold.
Important: data minimization and law enforcement
We are aware that reproductive health data - including pregnancy status, period tracking data, and contraceptive information - has been subpoenaed and used in legal proceedings in US jurisdictions where certain reproductive choices are restricted. We take this seriously. Where technically feasible, we store derived display values rather than raw reproductive status fields, so that our database does not contain explicit statements about your pregnancy status or contraceptive method. If we receive a law enforcement request for user data, we will notify affected users to the extent permitted by law before complying.
Reproductive health data is subject to the following specific commitments:
- It is never sold, shared for advertising, or used for any purpose other than displaying your hormonal context within the app
- It is deleted immediately and completely upon account deletion or upon you removing the hormonal context feature from your profile - it is explicitly excluded from our anonymized aggregate data retention
- You can remove your hormonal context data at any time from your profile settings without deleting your account
- We store derived display values where technically feasible rather than raw reproductive status fields to minimize what data exists in our systems
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information only for the purposes listed below. We will not use it for any new purpose without first seeking your consent.
- To generate and display your inventory results and dashboard, including mood trends, sleep patterns, and hormonal context where you have provided it
- To send you your results by email, including a link to access your account
- To allow you to return to your results and track changes over time
- To send you periodic wellness content and resources. You are added to our mailing list when you begin an inventory, with notice provided at the point of email collection. You may unsubscribe at any time
- To process subscription payments and any other payment types we may offer from time to time via Stripe
- To improve our tools using aggregated, anonymised analytics
- To comply with our legal obligations
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train artificial intelligence models. We do not share it with the Momwell therapy practice without your explicit consent.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under PIPEDA, we rely on your consent as the legal basis for collecting and using your personal information. You provide this consent when you submit your name and email to begin an inventory and proceed through our tools.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at hello@momwell.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal, but it may limit our ability to provide you with access to your results or the dashboard.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We use the following third-party service providers to operate our platform. Each of these providers may process your personal information on our behalf. We have taken steps to ensure they maintain appropriate safeguards.

Important: Your data is stored in the United States
All of the providers listed above store and process data on servers located in the United States. If you are accessing our tools from Canada, your personal information will cross the border into the United States, where it is subject to United States law. This means that US authorities may, in certain circumstances, have access to your information under US law. By using our tools and submitting your personal information, you consent to this transfer. We take contractual steps to ensure our providers maintain appropriate protections.
6. How We Protect Your Information
We implement technical and organisational safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:

- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- API route authentication and ownership validation on all data-writing endpoints
- Rate limiting on sensitive endpoints
- Security response headers on all pages
No method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you have concerns about the security of your information, please contact us at hello@momwell.com.
7. Privacy Breaches
In the event of a privacy breach that poses a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and inform you as soon as reasonably practicable. We will also maintain a record of all breaches, as required by PIPEDA.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Right to access - You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to correction - If any information we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you may ask us to correct it.
- Right to withdrawal of consent - You may withdraw consent for us to use your personal information at any time.
- Right to deletion - You may request that we delete your personal information. We will do so unless we are required by law to retain it. We may retain anonymised, non-identifiable aggregate data derived from your information after deletion for product improvement and research purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you.
- Right to complain - You have the right to make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe we have not handled your information appropriately.
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Privacy Officer at hello@momwell.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies and Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised, aggregated data about how our tools are used. This data does not identify you personally. It includes information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, and device type.
Google Analytics uses cookies - small text files stored on your device - to collect this data. You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We do not use advertising cookies or sell your browsing behaviour to any third party.
10. Age Requirement
Our tools are intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at hello@momwell.com and we will delete it promptly.
11. Links to Other Websites
Our tools may contain links to third-party websites, including podcast episodes, blog posts, and external resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any website you visit.

Your continued use of our tools after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
